Hello! I do hope you've been doing well since my last post. Today, I'm sharing about things that impact the condition of hair, significantly. Some of the following points may be quite familiar to you, while others may not. The six things, or categories are:
- Food we digest
- Beverages we digest
- Products we apply to the scalp and hair
- Hair-care appliances and tools we use to style our hair
- Thoughts we think about our hair
- Statements we make about our hair
Today, my focus is on the thoughts we think and the statements we speak about our hair. In my observations over time, I've experienced calmer, easier-to-care-for hair when I thought/think positive thoughts about it. In other words, I've noticed that my hair "followed" the directions of my thoughts about it! If I thought poorly of my hair, my hair behaved in a way that agreed with my negative thoughts. Examples of negative thoughts about the hair are, "My hair is always so tangled!" or "My hair is so difficult to manage." Negative thoughts like that, ultimately, become self-fulfilling prophecies, if we don't change what we think to a positive thought of how we desire our hair to behave. Take note of the thoughts you think about your hair and if it's been negative, start changing what you think. Find something nice to think about your hair everday, stick with it and you will see pleasant improvements.
Similarly, what we say about our hair, whether joking or not, becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy as well. You've probably heard the phrase, "I'm having a bad-hair day." or "My hair is so crazy!" Just like negative thoughts, such statements ultimately become self-fulfilling prophecies, if we don't change what we say to reflect how we desire our hair to behave. As with your thoughts, take note of what you say about your hair, ane if it's been negative, start changing what you say, stick with it and you'll see a lovely improvement!
Start appreciating your hair with your own thoughts and words, now, even if your hair is less than what you desire it to be right now. It will improve, because your body is listening to what you think and say. "Sweet-talk" and "sweet-thoughts" your hair and reap the rewards!
